A Very Blue Rock Christmas

A VERY BLUE ROCK CHRISTMAS - Join us for our annual holiday homecoming show.

Austin's Carrie Rodriguez effortlessly melds fiery fiddle playing, electrifying vocals and new and classic songs with an “Ameri-Chicana” attitude. Her newest project, the Spanish/English album Lola, is a return to her musical roots where she delivers her own twangy, Texas-bred twist on Mexican Ranchera songs, creating music for a culturally blended world.

Inspired by the 1940’s-era recordings of Carrie’s great aunt, Chicana singing sensation Eva Garza, the album is a mixture of new and old songs.

Early in her career, a collaboration with singer-songwriter Chip Taylor resulted in four highly acclaimed duet albums. Her solo albums have each been highly acclaimed, from her debut Seven Angels on a Bicycle to 2013’s Give Me All You Got, which reached no. 1 on the Americana Music Charts.

Carrie has toured, recorded and co-written with legendary artists such as Lucinda Williams, John Prine, Bill Frisell, Rickie Lee Jones, Mary Gauthier, Los Lobos, Alejandro Escovedo and Los Lonely Boys, among others. She has appeared on Austin City Limits, The Tonight Show and A Prairie Home Companion. She has been profiled in Rolling Stone, The New York Times, The Times of London, The New Yorker, the Washington Post and many more.

Carrie lives in Austin with her partner and musical collaborator Luke Jacobs and their son, Cruz Calvin Jacobs.

About Erin Ivey: “It says a great deal when Austin’s legendary music scene considers you its darling, but such is the case these days for velvet-voiced Erin Ivey” (Roxy). Award-winning Urban Folk songwriter and Texas Music Magazine Artist of the Year, Erin Ivey is “a songwriter of the first order” (Daily News) with a “rare and deeply affecting voice” (KUTX) which she uses like an instrument. Her releases have garnered numerous Top 10 and Album of the Year recognitions, along with the Grand Prize in the Discoveries Songwriting Contest. Erin has performed hundreds of shows around the world in backyards, concert halls, boardrooms, and ships at sea, in a diverse arrangement of solo and band scenarios and as a regular Critics’ Pick at SXSW Music Festival. Erin was selected to represent the Recording Academy at the GRAMMY Festival at Sea, alongside Heart, Emmylou Harris, and Shawn Colvin. The Austin Chronicle called her most recent collection of songs “deeply moving, beyond a genre.”

Erin has perfromed in support of Heart, Norah Jones, Ralph Stanley, Stanley Jordan, Joan Osborne, Los Lobos, Shawn Colvin, Emmylou Harris, The Eagles, The Avett Brothers, Gaby Moreno, Loudon Wainwright III, Christopher Cross, JD Souther, Little Feat, and Jon Anderson (YES).

Billy Crockett
is enjoying critical acclaim for his 2016 release of RABBIT HOLE on Blue Rock Artists. Crockett is also a music producer and the creative director of Blue Rock Studio in the Texas hill country. He has recorded twelve solo albums and toured internationally. Billy is a multi-instrumentalist and has produced albums for Cliff Eberhardt, Grace Pettis, Beth Wood, RJ Cowdery, Darryl Purpose, and others. He has been featured on the BMI songwriter panel at SXSW, in the television series Troubadour, TX, and as guitar clinician for Yamaha.
