Our annual HOLIDAY SONGS IN THE ROUND with the exquisite Bob Bennett, Grace Pettis, and our own Billy Crockett. It's a warm, not always reverent, gathering with lots of singing and cheer. We hope to see you there, or on the webcast!
Bob Bennett's first performance at Blue Rock (December '05) is still being talked about. His rich voice and songs are prominently featured on A Very Blue Rock Christmas CD released last year. His own holiday album, Christmastide, was released in 2009. He is a renowned songwriter and a soulful presence with great warmth and wit.
Bob's Matters of the Heart was Contemporary Christian Music Magazine "Album of the Year" in 1982, and ranked in the top 20 contemporary Christian albums of all time. Each of his albums are exquisitly crafted and have been loved by critics and fans alike. Recently, Bob has found acceptance in the mainstream folk music scene, while performing in music clubs near his home in Southern California. www.bob-bennett.com
Bob Bennett writes "Since 1979, I've recorded nine albums, shared concerts with wonderful folks like Michael Card and Amy Grant. I even spent two years as a radio talk show host... Whether at churches, colleges, coffeehouses, folk festivals or even an Irish pub or two, I'm very happy to be doing the one thing I always wanted to do..."
Grace Pettis: With stories in her soul, copious courage, and a smile that melts walls, Grace makes it look easy. In her short career, she has built a reputation as a respected songwriter among artists, industry, and fans. She is a multiple songwriting award winner from Kerrrville and Mountain Stage to Wildflower! Maverick Magazine featured a FIVE STAR review of each of her 2 albums, both produced by Billy Crockett at Blue Rock Studio. Touring a national network of listening rooms, and nearly non-stop songwriting keeps Grace busy. Joyfully for us, she and her husband Cris have moved (returned) to Austin, Texas. www.gracepettis.com
Billy Crockett, an award-winning guitarist and celebrated songwriter, has kindled a love for the guitar and a refreshing honesty through 30 years of album-making, international touring, virtuoso playing, and a continuing new perspective. Billy’s main gig for the last 10 years has been producer, mentor and creative director of Blue Rock Artist Ranch and Studio. Billy’s aptly titled Passages (Blue Rock Artists, 2006), is a collection of original classical guitar pieces. His followup album, Wishing Sky, features folk-pop story-songs. A new Crockett album is on the horizon, slated for release in the summer of 2015. www.billycrockett.com
